Interview with a Talented and Young Model Liv Mathis!!!

Well girls I don't know what about you but I adore magazines. So tell me what we ALWAYS see there? But it's better to say "who" not "what"...Exactly..models! They stare at us with the perfect hair, great make-up and chic clothes. At least one of those who read it now wanted to be in the magazine. Am I right? Suppose I am. But have you ever thought that these girls are just like we are, with their own problems and dreams. Sometimes their perfect life (just like we think) isn't so perfect...
I had a chance to chat with so nice and amazing girl. She is a model and will be signing with an agency in NY and LA. I think in the nearest future she'll blow the world of models! So please meet Liv Mathis!!!

1. Firstly tell about yourself please.
My name is Liv Mathis. I just recently turned 17 years old! I was born in Atlanta, GA. I do have a bit of Euro In me but unfortunately I wasn't born there.

2. Tell about your childhood.
I was your average child. I grew up with one younger brother and one older  sister. But I do have another brother and 2 more sisters! They are older and moved out. I lived in Atlanta for 7 years and then moved to South Carolina. I miss Atlanta so much! I'm definitely a city girl!

3. Did you always want to be a model and how did you get into this business?

I originally wanted to be a celebrity make-up artist and/or hair stylist because of my extreme creativity. Dumbfounded, when I was 16 I was scouted by Steve Fox (Fox Models International) in our local mall. I walked in 2 show cases in front of several top New York agencies such as IMG, Next, Ford, etc. I had 7 out of 10 call backs but unfortunately did not sign with anyone. I started looking more and more into it with time and became obsessed with molding myself into a model. I lost weight, stayed toned, treated my hair, and cleared my skin. I knew for sure the rush that modeling gave me was something I wanted when I was 16.

4. Do you have some funny stories about modeling that happend to you? And can you tell one of them to readers?

Last February I ended up getting signed with an Atlanta agency. I signed with them because of a newly released TV show that they were involved with. Little did I know it wasn't all that it was mapped out to be. I booked zero jobs through this agency. All jobs I have accomplished were booked through myself. I was basically my own agent. Until a month ago! I'm in the midst of my release from my contract with the agency in Atlanta and I have many offers from other agencies all over the world. I'm planning to sign with an agency in LA. (I cannot release any names yet.) Its funny because I have been signed with this Atlanta agency for about 8 months and never knew I had all of these other great opportunities!

5. Who are your role models in this business?
My main role model is Georgia Jagger. She's so beautiful and she is the main reason I've decided to embrace the gap between my teeth. I feel it's important to be who you are and stay that way. And that's exactly what she has done.

6.  Did you meet the legendary models who are known all over the world?

I have met many, many, amazing models from all over the world but I have yet to meet any legends!

7. What is the best in your opinion your project which make you proud of yourself?

I cant really say quite say my most cherished work yet. I have done amazing things but I'm not yet where I want to be at!

8. On what magazine's cover have you been and on what you would like to be and why?

This month I have covered 2 fashion magazine's and done spreads for 5 different magazines. A few are Uptempo, MOD Magazine and K|W Report!

9. The face of what cosmetics, clothes, shoes you want to be in future?
I am not yet the face of any cosmetics or brands. I did shoot for Surf or City in St.Petersburg, Florida over the summer and am newly a face for them!

10. Does modeling give you the opportunity to travel and where have you already been?
I travel all of the time. I'm always on the road. Recently I've been in Atlanta, Orlando, and Nashville. Once I sign with a new agency I will be traveling way more.

11. Is it difficult to find the common language with other models? It's not a secret that you are all rivals for each other and is it possible to make a real friendship with models?
Most of the models I have met speak good English if they are from other countries. It's a very competitive industry, so cut throat. I can say that some of the best friends I have ever made are my competition. I've made very good friends with other models. We're all happy for each other and wish each other the best.

12. What do you wear in your everyday life and on castings?
I honestly am a mix between very classy and hippie. Some days I will be dressed like I'm walking red carpet and other days I'm dressed as if I don't have a care in the world. Although on castings I must always dress clean. A black tank, skinny jeans, and black heels is my usual outfit for castings.

13. What do you want to achieve in future? Do ou plan to be a model for all your life or want to do something else?
I have a lot of goals set for my modeling career. Many brands I want to be the face of. So I must keep that as a main focus for now. Eventually I'm sure, I want to be an agent. I'm always looking at teens thinking "He/She could be a supermodel!"

14. What's your favourite shoe, clothes and make-up brand?
My favorite shoe line right now is Vince Camuto! LOVE the Wenters boot in black. My favorite make-up is Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics! Their lip tar is the best! All of the MUA's should have it in their kit!

15. What photographer does the best photos in your mind?
Honestly I have met a lot of great photographers and I adore most of them! I will say my favorite so far is a photographer named Allen Cooley! His work is beautiful and he is very educated about not only photography but the whole industry! He's given me an enormous amount of tips!

16. Can you give some advice to those who want to be models: with what should they start, what they should know and how to look?
The best advice I can give to aspiring models is MAKE SURE you sign with the right agency! Do not get talked into anything. Also DO NOT pay to model! That's not how it's supposed to work! You're not supposed to be bankrupting yourself to have pretty pictures taken! Take some snap shots at home and send them in to an agency!! Be humble, and stay true to your dreams.

I hope you enjoy reading! This girl is amazing, isn't she?

Not so long ago I saw these photos of RB and I just obsessed with this look because I think it's so amazing for everyday look: girly, edgy, casual and a little bit of chic. I also prefer something like this in clothes. So I think it's one of the mainest reason I like this look. Actually Rachel's looks inspire me very-very often! What do you think about it?
By the way do you watch the 2nd season of Hart of Dixie? I DO!

Interview with Maxime Luère an author of famous video "A LIFE ON FACEBOOK"

When I saw the video "A Life On Facebook" at first time I was so impressed. I liked it a lot. It seems that there were nothing new - just showing the life of the most modern people. We pay too much attention to Internet and social networks and show to the world our private life. Finally I take an interview with a guy who create the video which blow the world! If you haven't seen the video - here it is. It will be just easier to read and inderstand the interview if you exactly will know what is the video about.

And here is the creator!

1. Tell me please about yourself.
I'm Maxime Luère and I live in Paris. I'm 31 years old. I'm a director but I'm also a computer graphic artist.

2. How did you get an idea of creation the video about a person's life in facebook?
Well, just after break up with a girl, I visualised what could be my my life on Facebook. I saw a vision of the Facebook interface with relationship status going to "in relationship " to " single " quite often. I thought this idea was great. Each time I had a sad moment in my life I try to turn it in a positive thing. So I decided to make this short movie.
Without this breakup, I wouldn't made this video that brought me lot of things in my life. I succeed to get my positive things.

3. Don't you think that your video is almost about every modern person? Because we live in a digital and Internet time and spend there so many our free time.
Of course even if it's not an autobiographic movie I took my inspiration from my life. You're right, I think this movie had a huge success because everyone can recognise himself in it. Modern people are connected permanently now. With phone and computer. I feel naked when my iPhone run out of battery!

4. What was the main idea and message of this work that you've made?

I didn't have any message. I just knew for sure that people would feel a lot of emotion seeing a life that looks like their life in fast forward. Just wanted to keep positive in that movie and even if it's hard, if you loose your love, you will always find the right one at the end.

5. How did this video change your life? Maybe there are some fans appeared or some business inquires etc?
I was stunt when I saw a fan groups on Facebook with 23 000 people. I had lot of business inquires but I didn't want to make a movie like "a life on Facebook" for a trademark or a company. I received lot of mails from important people all around the world and I personally received 11 000 messages on my Facebook inbox!

6. Is there a chance that we will see soon something as amazing as this video?

I had a lot of ideas for personal movie. I would like to do them but I already work a lot so I can't spend my free time working.

7. The character in your video is getting married with a girl who he saw in a facebook. It's rather a big problem of a modern life because most of the girls and boys don't want to get to know each other in a real life. People become lazier, they don't want to impress others and there are no any romantic feelings about the 1st meeting.
What do you think about this tendency?

If it was 1000 years ago, you would think it's romantic to send hundred of mails before the first meeting don't you think? I can understand why people like meet people on Internet. It's hard to talk to a girl you don't know in real life. On Internet you can just find the right words and there could be feelings for what you really are.

8. Were there some copies of your video? I meen did you notice that some people try to copy your video using your idea?
Yes, I saw a lot of advertisings using the same concept. I think even Facebook was inspired from my movie to make their timeline video :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzPEPfJHfKU

9. What are the nicest and the rudest comments that you receive about your work?

I really received lot of messages of congratulation from all around the world but I received this one that touched me a lot. But of course I don't think it's true: " I suppose this is what we could call MODERN ART ANNO 2010, and for once its not 4 red lines on a big yellow canvas making you wonder whether the artist was mad or drunk, no, this is the real deal, truly a work of excellence, and totally in tune with the times! Bravo!"
And that sounds crazy but I didn't receive any rude message.

10. Is the main character of your video a real person (maybe your relative or friend) or it's just a fictioned man created specially for your project?
Alex Droner is totally a fake person. That was crazy because I checked on Facebook before created my movie and there were no Alex Droner. Now, there is hundred of Alex Droner and he have his own fan page.

11. How long did it take you to make this video?

I took notes on a little paper each time I had an idea about this movie. On month later I had a lot of ideas and I started doing it. So it took 3 intensive days to create the video.

Interview with Francesca (FRANK VINYL blog)

Finally there is a new interview with an interesting girl whose outfits are always interesting to watch. Her style differs from the way most of the girls prefer to dress up. All in all it doesn't make her less interesting! I can say that her her difference make people to look at her. So I was lucky to talk with her about her hair, style and fashion favourites.

1. Tell me please a little about yourself.
My name is Francesca, but my friends refer to me as Franchie or French. I grew up in California with Mexican and am of Mexican German decent. I love Fashion, Photography, art, music and above all traveling.

2. How did you start blogging?
I started blogging as a hobby. I would read a lot of blogs religiously and then realized I should make my own.

3. You have vey interesting personal style and how you can describe it?

It’s a bit of a mix I think. My friends say I’m eclectic and bohemian. I would say it’s a mix of Boho chic, Parisian and casual california style.

4. Did you come by yourself to such style or you were inspired by someone and if "yes", who it was?
I lived in Paris for a while and picked up a lot of how they dress there. I just love how they put things together. It all looks so natural. Their style is contagious! I’ve lost a bit of that influence but I like to think there’s still flashes of that past life in my style. I’ve lived in many other places since then and I’ve picked up bits here and there. I get inspired by everyone I see every day and all the places I have been to. Every country and city has its own take on fashion. Yet, I think my biggest inspiration is my mother (even though her style is completely different from mine). She is more elegant and timeless. I think she is the reason I fell in love with fashion.

5. Where do you prefer to buy your clothes?
I mostly do a lot of online shopping because I hate trying things on and vintage store because I feel you can find more unique pieces this way... pieces not everyone will have. Top shop is one of my favorite places to shop because people in California don’t have it and they always have character. As far as local stores, I love American Apparel for their basics, Freepeople for bohemian pieces you can layer and LF always has the best shoes.

6. What celebrity is the most stylish in your opinion?
Kate Moss. I love her because she just throws different things together and it all works out perfectly. Kelley Ash is also one of my favorites! Her hair makes everything look edgy.

7. Can you tell TOP-5 fashion items from your wardrobe you can't live without?
1. black quilted Chanel,
2. Rumi Jeffrey Campbell boots,
3 American Apparel high waisted black leggings
4. Lancome hypnotize mascara
5. A big floppy hat
...and there is a №6. Morroccan oil!!

8. What are your fashion and beauty must-haves for this fall?
A good oversized coat, thick frames oversized glasses, textured and layered hair (think freja in zara add), a good pair of black boots like those beautiful studded Chloe ones.

9. You have very beautiful hair! What is your hair routine? How to get so gorgeous hair look as yours?
Thank you! A friend of mine once shared with me an amazing secret. Coconut oil. I buy virgin coconut oil at the grocery store and leave it in my hair over night then rinse it out in the morning. At least once or twice a week. It leaves your hair super shiny and moisturized. Daily, I normally just style it with a bit of Moroccan oil to tame the dry ends and sometimes spray on bumble and bumble surf spray for texture. I rarely straighten or blow-dry it because my hair it’s the worst you can do to your hair.

10. What is the main message of your blog for others?
I think it’s important to be yourself. Not wear stuff only because its what everyone is wearing but wear it because you love it. If you try and copy other people most of the time you wont succeed. It just won’t look organic. I like to think that I help my readers see that is ok to be yourself. Sometimes my outfits work, sometimes they don’t. It’s all about finding yourself and what works for you.

11. What is blogging for you? What do you get with it?
It’s my outlet for self expression. I love fashion and I love photography so I find it a great way to combine my two loves and express myself. Meeting other bloggers and readers that have the same interest and passion as me is one of the best things about blogging and I love sharing my finds and ideas with them.

12. Is there any motto, quote or some wisdom that helps uou yo live?
I know this is super cheesy and possibly makes me sound like I don’t have a quote, but keep in mind that I am a huge Beatles fan. I live by “Let it be”. It works in so many ways. Life, Love, and Fashion. In fashion, if you just let yourself gravitate and wear what you love, most likely that will be the best look on you. Never force it. A bit of good taste helps of course but you get my point. This translates in everything else. Whenever I feel unhappy about something I realize that if I just let it be…everything is so much easier and clearer.

13. Is there any advice that you can give for those who just want to start blogging?
I guess, content and photos are very important. Make sure your photos are good quality and that content is something people will want to read. It’s important to not take yourself to seriously. Fashion should be fun, and if you have fun, people will find you more relatable.
